Who Are The Ridings

A Family with a long history of gospel music and ministry

From the timeless beauty of traditional hymns to the heartfelt energy of southern gospel and contemporary Christian music, The Ridings Family pours its heart into every note they sing.

The family's musical history goes back to the 60's and beyond. Darren's parents, Glenn and Nadine Ridings both ministered in family and college groups on opposite sides of the country until they met in 1970 and began singing together in Nadine's family group with her brothers Randy and Tim Russell.

But the family's musical history goes back even further with Nadine's mom and grandma both being church pianists.

The three boy; Darren, Steve, and Dusten began singing together as The Ridings Brothers in 1990 and traveled and sang together for the next several years.

Ashleigh Gorham

Soprano

Ashleigh has a heart for service. She serves both her home church and community by working with children.

Equally, Ashleigh serves the family's music ministry with her sweet spirit and loving attitude. She sings from her heart and has a spiritual and emotional delivery that comes out of her own rough experiences.

Ashleigh loves singing for Jesus, and telling others how they too can find the same peace in their lives that she has.

Timothy Ridings

Baritone and bass guitar

Timothy has one of the richest baritone and bass voices you will ever hear.

He is a huge asset to Darren and the church in which they serve. You can often hear Darren tell others that he couln't do what he does without Timothy in the background doing what he does.

With a rich, deep voice and a love for the older styles of hymns and southern gospel music, Timothy brings the feel of yesterday with the Ridings Family.

He will a well rounded musician playing drums, bass and piano and an ear with which he can pick out tones and keys without touching a keyboard.

Darren Ridings

Manager, Lead and piano

Darren is almost as old as southern gospel itself (just kidding)

Darren is dad, booking agent, piano player, lead singer, and pastor of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in their home town of Lake Isabella, CA

With a musical background that goes back 50 years. He started learning to sing the minute he could climb up to the piano bench to sit next to his mom.

Darren has sang with several groups starting with The Ridings Brothers, Golden State Quartet and standing in with several group throughout the state of California.

His passion for music and the word of God can be seen through his singing, piano playing, and preaching.

Jennifer Ridings

Wife, mother, nana, prayer warrior, and financial advisor

Jennifer, by far, has the most important job of the group. She keeps the entire family in-line, watches Ashleigh's three young children so the trio can go on the road, goes to battle for the family - on her knees - in prayer . . . and helps them to keep the finances in line so they can continue to minister to the Lord's churches through song and preaching.

Jennifer, though she doesn't sing with the group, does have a musical background in band and chior. She also has and ear for what sounds good and looks good. Which comes in handy when the family is trying out new songs or new clothes.

Darren and Jennifer have been married since 1996 and have served together in Lake Isabella since 2012.
